Document Delivery Subcommittee Meeting
February 19, 1999
Frankfort, KY
(1) We had extensive discussion re: the "number" of sites to
receive Ariel workstations; it was finally agreed to accept Miko's
recommendation that Ariel be placed at 45 sites, including those 37 of the KCTCS (per
Sharon Miller's request relayed to us via Miko), the 7 public libraries also included in
the Ground Courier RFP, and one at Lexington CC--with any remaining funds to be allocated
among the SAALCK libraries.
(2) Regarding the necessity of a "Memorandum of Agreement" (MOA), it was agreed
that such a Document Delivery MOA combine both Ariel and Ground Courier
requirements/stipulations/agreements.
(3) We decided to establish two new Workgroups, as follows:
(a) an "MOA" Workgroup with Sharon and Barb (co-chairs), Carolyn and Wayne; and
(b) a "Training" Workgroup with Nancy and Bill (co-chairs), Lisa and Ruth
Kinnersley (from Western).
(4) Deadlines -- We decided to aim for March 19th (our next meeting) for the
"Training" Plan, and April 2d for the "MOA."
(5) Per Miko, Dennis intends to issue the Ground Courier RFP as an Invitation to Bid/Best
Value--i.e., not as an actual RFP--with turnaround quicker than an actual RFP, expected to
be in 2 1/2 months (by July 1).
(6) We acted on our Ariel Workgroup's recommendation on Ariel specs, asking that it be
forwarded for review/comments to the CVL Tech Subcom. and the CVU Tech Workgroup by Miko.
(7) If I left anything out of this summary, please bring it to our attention at our next
meeting--scheduled for Friday, March 19, in the KIRM Conference Room @ CPE from 10 - 11:45
a.m.)
