1. Housekeeping/Additions to Agenda

The group welcomed David Holt of Hardin Memorial Hospital

2. Report on Databases PsycINFO

Pattie reported that the contract with APA is still pending, but expects is completed in the near future. In addition, Pattie reported that the wording of the contract indicated that KYVL will have the PsycINFO backfiles back to 1888.

World Book Encyclopedia KYVL is working on a trial of World Book Encyclopedia to be set up beginning in October. However, pricing for this database is very HIGH.

3. Assessment Project Report

Evaluation Form:

• The web version of the database evaluation should be up by mid October.
• The printed version of the evaluation form is done and ready for distribution. It was decided to use the courier service to distribute the evaluation forms.

Focus Groups Focus groups should be held at as many institutions as possible for end users An ideal number of participants for a focus group is 6 to 10 people Focus groups need to be completed by November with the report being completed by early January Procedures and handouts for the facilitators are being developed Send comments to David Horvath by Friday, October 6th

4. Trial Databases Policy and Procedures

Report Moore presented a draft of the Procedures to be followed when databases are suggested for KYVL purchase The suggestion forms (one for vendors & Librarians/Users) and an evaluation form for trial databases were presented There were changes recommended to the procedures and forms. These changes will be sent to the Listserv by Friday, September 15th.

Please respond back to the list by the following Wednesday, September 20th.

5. Other The user profiles/communities/ were discussed 6. Next Meeting The next meeting is tentatively scheduled for Monday, October 30th at KYVL meeting room A from 1:00 to 4:00 at the Council on Postsecondary Education.
