Information Literacy Subcommittee Minutes

Present: Susan Brown, Jill Buckland, Sonja Eads, Susan Henthorn, Anna Marie Johnson, Rebecca Turner, Teri Weil, Emily Werrell, Haiwang Yuan

Not present: Janet Brewer, Louann Hardy, Tom Kmetz, Steve Stone, Neata Wiley

Susan Henthorn, who is replacing Edith Hansen, was welcomed as our new member.

Next meeting: No date set. We will not need to meet again as a group until after a consultant has been selected.

RFP Update: The timeline has been adjusted in the first RFP to allow an additional month for the consultant to prepare his/her final report. The final date for completion is now November 1, 2000. Please let Susan B. know the names of any people you know who might be interested in the job. She would like to send the RFP out directly to individuals. We need one or two committee members to serve on a subcommittee that will meet in May to examine the proposals and select a consultant. This group will need to be available between May 9-31. So far, we have Emily and Teri on the subcommittee. Please let Emily know by April 14 if you are interested. We (the entire group) should plan a meeting in early July, so that the consultant can meet with us as s/he begins work. We will also need to plan on meeting with the consultant in October, before the final report is due. The second RFP timeline now begins in November 2000 and the final deadline remains June 2001.

Adding screen shots/animated examples: We decided to postpone this work, since the consultant will begin work by July and may have suggestions in this area.

Quiz questions: All of the quiz questions in the "self-test" module were examined and edited by the group. A large number of questions and answers were either revised or omitted. Check your quizzes (the ones in the "self-test"), especially if you were not at the meeting, and also check the questions that remain in your modules -- we did not edit those -- to make sure they are consistent with the newly revised quiz questions. Some modules still need enhanced answers for the quiz questions. (Reminder -- we had decided to include an explanation for each answer, not just a "correct" or "incorrect.")
