Information Literacy Subcommittee Minutes

Those attending were: Hannelore Rader, chair; Miko Pattie; Haiwang Yuan; Edith Hansen; Jill Buckland; Steve Stone; Emily Werrell, Stacey Nickell, Dirk Griffin; Patrick Bragg; Charlene Davis from KDLA; candidate for assistant director of KCVL; Cindy Vermillion - graphic designer.

Next line Unit 1: Getting Started on right; Home, Previous Unit, Next Unit, Help

 

2. Left Hand Column: dark blue with white font. Change Unit 5 to "Citing & Copyright"

3. Directional buttons: arrows with "previous" and "next" written on them, to go to adjacent pages.

4. Footer: on right - E-mail Help Desk.

5. Subsequent pages within each unit: smaller version of logo on left.

There should be no visible attribution, but Dirk demonstrated a code for including the page creators and date which will not be visible to the user. He advised using this as a reference point for later updating, e.g.<|--dirkgriffin--|>

Graphics for the dynamic pages:

Send printouts of relevant pages with requests for graphic design to (email) [email protected]

Patrick will format all of the pages by the end of the day.

Glossary: each unit to produce its own, using the Notes feature. Dirk will assist LuAnn in compiling the master glossary. For help with this and other problems, send e-mail to: [email protected]

Upcoming meetings and training:

Quiz training. Week of June 14 and week of June 21 in Louisville and Lexington. Patrick will send out exact times and places.

Deadline for tutorial to be completed, July 12, In Frankfort, at KDLA. Steve and Emily volunteered to help. Meeting of about 100 library staff who will be introduced to the CVL.

(The Info.Literacy Committee will not be training the trainers. Charlene from KDLA will see to that.)
