Steering Committee Minutes

Present: Jim Nelson (Chair), Marian Winner, Hannelore Rader, Bill Hansen, Jackie Calvert, Susan Dunman (for Coy Harmon), Fran Davis, Carol Nutter (for Larry Besant), Karen McDaniel, Paul Fuller, Charlene Davis, Miko Pattie

Absent: Dave Ballard, Kathleen Bryson, Judith Burdine, Marcia Myers, Dennis Taulbee, Jackie White, Paul Willis

1. Update on RFP:

Miko reported that the Purchasing will hand over database vendor responses to the Collections Subcommittes's Evaluation Team on May 19. We will not know until we see these before we know if we can meet the target date. (The target date has since been moved from July 1 to the month of July.)

We haven't heard about the ground courier service bids yet. (Miko just heard {5/25} that there are 2 bids and the Purchasing hasn't decided if these are o.k.)

2. KCVL Orientation Sessions: July 12 & 13 in CPE Conference Room

* These are designed for KCVL library contacts so they will be familiar with KCVL and KCVU services. The dates were originally set for June 10 & 11 as the target date was July 1. (These dates have been changed to July 12 & 13.)

* These sessions will cover all 6 services: Databases, Endeavor, Info Lit, Digitization, GIA, and Document Delivery. (A Call Center session will be added.)

* The Committee recommended to have the following groups as target audiences:

2.1. Pilot project contacts -- 9 librarians; one each from the leading instituion

2.2. Public librarians -- KDLA will be responsible for assigning these; 40 librarians

2.3. State-supported institutions -- Miko will make available a list of names submitted a month ago.

2.4. Other types of libraries -- AIKCU, School, and Special; Bill will give KLN names to Miko; 7 librarians

2.5. KCVL Steering Committee members -- 17 members

* These sessions will be made available via KTLN as well for those that can't come.

3. Service Level Agreements:

The Committee approved the SLA for the document delivery service. As Larry was not present, the SLA for Endeavor was not voted on.

4. Next Meeting: June 18, 1:00 - 4:00, CPE Conference Room

The date was set for June 11 as the Orientation Session was scheduled for that date.   (The date has since been changed to June 18 to accommodate Hannelore's schedule.)
