Planning and Policy Subcommittee

The Planning and Policy Subcommittee will make recommendations through the Commonwealth Virtual Library (CVL) Steering Committee to the Distance Learning Advisory Committee (DLAC) on the mission and goals for operating the CVL. It will also make recommendations on overall structure and policies to most effectively address this charge. In doing so, the Subcommittee will consider the work already done by the State-Assisted Academic Library Council of Kentucky (SAALCK), the joint White Paper effort done by the Kentucky Library Network and the Kentucky Library Association; and the legislative intent of House Bill 1 passed in the 1997 Extraordinary Session of the Kentucky General Assembly, "The Kentucky Postsecondary Education Improvement Act of 1997"

The Subcommittee will be composed of one representative each from the doctorate granting institutions, two representing the comprehensive institutions, a representative of the Council on Postsecondary Education (CPE) staff and the Chair of the CVL Steering committee.

For 1998-99, the Subcommitttee will be composed of the following:

Hannelore Rader, University of Louisville

Marion Winner, Northern Kentucky University

Larry Bessant, Morehead State University

Dennis Taulbee, Council on Postsecondary Education

Jim Nelson, Chair, CVL Steering Committee
