Getting OCLC FirstSearch Statistics

1. Access the OCLC FirstSearch Usage Statistics Online service by directing your web browser to: http://www.stats.oclc.org

2. At the introductory screen, enter your individual institution's FirstSearch authorization and administrative password in the appropriate boxes then click the "start" button.

3. In the box labeled "FirstSearch Authorization", choose the appropriate category for your library, for example, public library, special library, etc. In the box labeled "Reporting Period", select a month then click the "submit" button.

4. Locate the box labeled "Institution Report". Choose either "Institution Subscription Activity" to see searches by database or "Institution Overview" to see other data, such as number of research sessions and number of simultaneous log-ons. If there are no reports to select, this means there was no activity on your OCLC FirstSearch authorization for the month you selected. Finally, click the "View Report" button to the immediate right of the "Institution Report" box. There may be up to three "View Report" buttons - please be sure to click the one appropriate one.

5. Use your browser's Back button to return to any point to change your selections.
