Identifying Keywords

Look at your questions from Task Definition (step 1).

From these questions, underline the most important words (usually nouns).

Make a list of these key words. Next to these words, think of some words that are related to them. You might use a thesaurus for this step. These keywords will be the words that you will especially look for when you read.

You would underline habitat, bears and survive. Now, survive is not a noun, but survival is.
