Services: Kentuckiana Digital LibraryThis project has two major parts. The first is to digitize finding aids from Special Collections and Archives all over the state and create a searchable database of those. The second is to digitize the actual objects in the collections and link those objects from the finding aids.A finding aid is a standard tool used by special collections and archives to give researchers access to the collection. It generally includes information about how the archive obtained the collection, a chronology related to the collection, a brief history, and a list of the items in the collection. Digitizing the finding aids will provide a level of access to these collections previously only available if you were actually at the institution holding those items. The Subcommittee working on this is the Kentuckiana Subcommittee Last Updated: 1/21/00 |
